igh quality photo restoration is itself a rare skill, a skill we have mastered at the Robinson Archive. We can take your damaged or deteriorated photograph or negative and restore it to a good as new condition. This technology is relatively new and was made possible by the digital revolution. First, we make a high resolution scan of the image.
Next, one of our highly trained craftsmen works in Adobe Photoshop using the latest Mac computers with calibrated large screen monitors to restore the image digitally. Following that a new image is made by one of 3 methods. We can make a very high quality digital print also known as a giclee' print. This is in either color or black and white. We also have what is known as a film recorder. The recorder exposes a digital image to conventional film resulting in a new negative that is virtually indistinguishable to the original except for the restoration. Because the film recorder produces both color and black and white negatives or transparencies we have the ability to do Cibachrome prints in the darkroom or black and white silver gel fiber based archival prints. We also offer resin coated archival black and white prints.
